How GenSimU Works
GenSimU is a fast-paced, real-world life simulation implemented on a single-day or during multi-session workshops. Youth participate as simulated roommates, sharing a simulated household and navigating scenarios that mirror the real-world barriers affecting job readiness, job retention, and long-term stability.
Throughout the simulation, youth rotate through station hubs where they face short, realistic scenarios concerning hygiene, grooming, transportation, workplace expectations, and financial choices. Each scenario requires a decision, and youth receive a green, yellow, or red card based on the strength of their choice.
At the end of each simulated week, roommates count their green, yellow, and red cards to determine whether their simulated household is on track to successfully earn their physical GenSimU™ Wallet Card by getting hired, staying hired, and remaining in good standing with their employers.
