Generation Simulation U
Generation Simulation U (GenSimU™) is a youth-centered, turnkey simulation that prepares teenagers and young adults facing real-world barriers for successful independent living and employment.
During the simulation, participants will "live as roommates" to practice the behaviors and decisions that impact job readiness, job retention, and long-term stability. Each simulated household must work together to get hired, stay hired, and remain in good standing with their employers to earn their official GenSimU™ Wallet Card—a durable, portable reality check that reminds youth how to make the right choices when they are on their own in society.
During the simulation, participants navigate high-stakes scenarios regarding:
💼 Workplace expectations, interviewing, and resume writing
💰 Financial management and budgeting
🚌 Transit logistics and commuting resilience
🧼 Professional hygiene and grooming standards
The simulation bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world independence, providing youth a safe space to practice professional decision-making.

Our Mission & Solution
GenSimU was founded by Sheila Ruffin, an attorney with a long history of advocating for vulnerable communities and volunteering with youth-serving organizations. Drawing upon years of advocacy, Sheila designed GenSimU to replace passive learning with high-fidelity, scenario-based simulations.
Society spends millions on workforce programs that rely on worksheets and lectures, yet youth still drop out of their first jobs at the first sign of a crisis. GenSimU breaks this cycle through our experiential framework to deescalate crisis shock by building true behavioral muscle memory in a safe-to-fail environment. To lock in these habits, participants can earn our physical GenSimU™ Wallet Card—a portable reality check designed to keep them stable when they are on their own in society.
